Coster Ojwang presents “RAPAR RAILA,” a tribute-style track rooted in the rich musical traditions of Kenya’s Luo community. The song draws on the emotional storytelling and rhythmic character associated with Ohangla and Luo music.
The title “Rapar Raila” refers to the remembrance or commemoration of Raila, with “rapar” used in the context of remembering the departed. In Luo musical tradition, songs of this nature can serve as expressions of remembrance, reflection, and honoring a person’s legacy. (The Star)
With its cultural character, emotional storytelling, and traditional East African sound, “Coster Ojwang – RAPAR RAILA” is a fitting addition to Ohangla playlists, Luo music collections, and listeners interested in Kenyan cultural music and tribute songs.
